Still Day 1 – Arriving in London
(Written at the time) Wednesday 11:51 PM GMT – Paddington, London, UK
My world has entirely changed in a little over 18 hours. I’m currently on the top bunk of bunk bed in a room with 5 other people in it and one bathroom to spare. Cold water only and we are lucky to have that.
I already regret over packing my bag. 31 lbs is hella heavy and hard to work with, but I think I will start dropping weight as I go along. As I expected, I have already made rookie mistakes like getting on the wrong train, paying in USD instead of local currency, and not trying my bankcard before I left. (which is not working on me, so I only have 5 pounds in cash)
Thankfully I met a lady at the airport who pushed me to get a hostel before I left Miami, so I was able to crash when I got here. Met some nice people so far and tomorrow, I’ll do a walking tour of London with one of them. Thank god for McDonalds. For the price of a bottle of water (1GBP 19pp), I got to use their wifi for 3 hours. Not a bad deal.
I’m already feeling more optimistic about the trip and am looking forward to my new home at the Manor. Still a bit homesick, but I think its good and will make sure I keep in touch. God save the Queen.
Hey dude!
Just read through all your posts, and subscribed to see any more posts once you get them out. I hope that as time has gone on since you first landed in London that you’ve gotten more used to things (and had more than 5 pounds available to you!) and I can’t wait to hear about your farming and cow time!
Take care Krishna,
Cristal
