Why run?
Because sometimes you have to…
Because if the last three weeks have taught me anything, it is that life can remove the certainty from almost any decision.
Because there are a thousand reasons not to. Career, family, friends… nine hundred and ninety-seven other reasons. All seeming to whisper “Stay, relax, what’s the rush?”
Because time marches on, with or without you. It isn’t until after you have wasted time do you realize your lost opportunity to do something more and are then filled with regret.
Because I’m young and still can. Age will spin a web so strong that even the mobility of thought will be constricted.
Because I have running shoes!
w00t ! go for it ! It’s good that you experienced and reflected on those 3 weeks … so where to ?
Check the Map out! Next stop is J-Ville, then G-Ville, then Home-Sweet-Home Miami.
Planning to stay there for a month and then head to London, England.
So proud of you. Stay hungry, stay foolish.
Thanks man
Love the map! On a more literal note, what shoes and how are they at traveling? I’ve gotta pack a backpack for a week in Thailand and sneakers are on the list, but I’m not sure which ones would be best.
Hey Yoli! Thanks for the map love :) I’m trying to keep it updated!
So I took a pair of C9’s from Target (http://tgt.biz/ZaMjuA) to India. We walked/hiked over 5 miles a day, every day for three weeks. There was no shoe left. They are still wearable, but the sole was so chewed up that it really isn’t useful anymore. But for the price, I am OK with that.
My little brother swears by 5 fingers(http://bit.ly/13AWEH5). I have never tried them, but have heard they are great. I don’t plan on buying them because they are expensive, but maybe they will work for you.
Let me know what you go with!
Good luck Krishna! I’m glad I got to see you and talk with you before you leave. I just subscribed to your blog; looking forward to some great posts and even better stories!
